Miles Cemetery
Cherokee County, Texas
Miles Cemetery is located about ¼ mile northwest of the spillway of Lake Jacksonville. From Jacksonville take Hwy 79 west and go to FM 747. Turn left of FM 747 & got to CR 3111. Turn left on CR 3111 and go about a mile to a dirt road turn right on the dirt road. You have to got over a cattle gaurd then you will see the cemetery. The cemetery is in the middle of a cattle ranch. There is a lot of damage to the cemetery with many broken & damaged gravestone, but it has been recently fenced in and is very clean. I have photos of all the tombstones. The cemetery was recataloged Oct. 9, 2010. Tombstoned marked with a ** were not found in 2010.
