New format by Brenda and David Wooddell, Sr.
Mixon Cemetery is located ten miles northeast of Jacksonville, Texas at the intersection of FM 177 and Hwy 135. From Jacksonville go north on Hwy 69 to FM 2493 turn Rt and go 4.4 miles to FM 177. Then go .9 miles to the cemetery, which is on the rt. The land was donated by S.K. Braly and was used as a cemetery as early as 1854. Octacio, daughter of S.A. & M.K. Braly, born 4-11-1853, died 6-12-1854: Isaac Blanton, born 1784 and died 1865, served as a private in the Tennessee Militia in the war of 1812. Mr. Green was buried here in 1866, but there is no marker. This cemetery was catalogued in 1969 by Mrs. Cravy and her school girls. Updated February 26, 1972 by Mrs. M.J. (Helen Francis Wooddell) Crawford and Mrs. Jack Pinson. Partially updated 11-9-2002 by Kevin McCauley and Brenda and David Wooddell, Sr.
